Delaware Unveils Exciting Upgrades to Student Tailgate Lot for Football Games This Season

NEWARK, Del. – Delaware Athletics is thrilled to announce major upgrades to the student tailgate lot for the 2025 Fightin' Blue Hens Football season. This year, Delaware students can enjoy an elevated game day experience with live music, games, activities, food, and a massive video screen showing games from across the country. New this year, the student tailgate lot will also feature on-site concessions available for purchase in the lot for the first-time ever. Menu options will consist of hot dogs, snacks, bottled water, and sodas.
The student tailgate lot remains free for all UD students and opens three hours before kickoff at every home game. Located in Field 9 of the Athletics Complex behind Bob Hannah Stadium, the space offers a vibrant, student-focused atmosphere steps away from Delaware Stadium.
GETTING THERE
Free student shuttles will run on game days with stops at Perkins, Gore Overpass, Christiana Commons, and the Sincock Lane entrance into the athletics complex. Come with a group, or come on your own, all you need is a student game ticket for the respective game and your UDID to enjoy the full tailgate lot experience. Students simply show their reserved game ticket (available at BlueHens.com/student) and UD ID upon arrival.
TAILGATE SPACE RENTALS FOR STUDENT GROUPS
Eight spaces are available each game (except September 13 vs. UConn) for registered student organizations, clubs, and groups of students who want to host their own tailgate. Packages include:
- Basic Package – $100: one parking space, five meal vouchers, and bring-your-own tailgating equipment
- Premium Package – $250: one parking space, 10 meal vouchers, a 10' x 10' tent, one 8' table, and six chairs.
On September 13, Delaware Athletics and Fraternity & Sorority Leadership & Learning (FSLL) are teaming up for a special Greek Life tailgate in the student tailgate lot before the Blue Hens face UConn. All students are welcome, and space reservations for Greek organizations will be coordinated through FSLL.
Students wishing to host a tailgate in other campus parking lots can also purchase single-game student parking for $10 via their student ticket account.
