Field Hockey Beats Bucknell 3-1

NEWARK, Del. - University of Delaware field hockey topped Bucknell by a score of 3-1 on Sunday afternoon. This win was the Fightin' Blue Hens' second consecutive victory. The Blue Hens improve to 2-3, while the Bison fall to 2-4.

HEN HIGHLIGHTSÂ
- Alexa Michielsen and Kate Fiest recorded scores in the first half.
- Livia van't Hek scored her first career goal.
- Delaware outshot the Bison 20 to four, and 13 to one in shots on goal.
- In the 23rd minute, Michelsen netted her first goal at Rullo Stadium, off an assist from Lily Cosner.
- Fiest got the ball just outside the circle, scoring from distance after juking past multiple defenders to put the Blue Hens up by two at the break.
- To wrap up the third stanza, Livia van't Hek grabbed her goal in a crowded circle off a helper from Ella Cellini.
- In the final frame, Bucknell converted on a penalty stroke opportunity by Kira Leclerq, netting the only opposing goal of the weekend against Gabby Prentice.
- Gabby Prentice now holds a goals against average of 1.07 in just over 223 minutes in net.
- Fiest's goal helped her tie Iris Bekker for the team and MPSF lead in points with 10 each.
- Delaware did not allow a shot in either the second or third quarter.
- The assist from Cellini was her first collegiate point.
