RADNOR, Pa. – University of Delaware's Head Men's Basketball Coach Martin Ingelsby will be inducted into the Archbishop John Carroll High School Hall of Fame in September, the organization announced.
"I am truly humbled and honored to be inducted into the Archbishop Carroll Hall of Fame," Ingelsby said. "None of this would have been possible without great coaches and teammates who challenged me, supported me and shared in the hard work along the way. I will always cherish my four years at Carroll and I am forever grateful to the people who made them so special."
Ingelsby had an outstanding career at Carroll where he finished as the school's all-time leading scorer with 1,425 points and led his team to an 80-12 record during his three years on the varsity squad. Following graduation in 1997, he was awarded the prestigious Markward Award given annually to the top high school player in the Philadelphia area, and was the Gatorade Player of the Year for Pennsylvania while also earning All-Catholic League honors three times. Ingelsby was also named Catholic League MVP as a senior and was a McDonald's All-America honorable mention selection.
"This is an incredibly well-deserved honor for Martin," Interim Director of Athletics, Community, and Campus Recreation Jordan Skolnick said. "We are proud to see him inducted into his high school hall of fame and celebrated for his remarkable career on the court."
Since his first season as head coach at the University of Delaware in 2016-17, Ingelsby and his staff have recruited and coached six Blue Hens to the pros, including Delaware's first-ever NBA player, Nate Darling. UD men's basketball has also produced three CAA Rookies of the Year, 21 All-CAA honorees, and six All-District players under his leadership. In Ingelsby's most recent season, he led the Hens to the conference championship, while becoming the first team in CAA history to win four games in the conference tournament. He left the conference tied for the fifth-most wins in CAA Tournament history with Lefty Driesell and Blaine Taylor at 13, as UD enters Conference USA for the 2025-26 campaign.
The event will be held at The Drexelbrook in Drexel Hill, Pa. on Saturday, September 27. To purchase tickets for the event, click here.
