Men's Swimming & Diving Defeats George Mason on Senior Day

NEWARK, Del. – University of Delaware men's swimming & diving defeated George Mason on senior day Saturday by a score of 201-99. With the victory, the Fightin' Blue Hens improve to 3-3 on the season.
Matvei Namakonov won all four races that he competed in during the meet, including setting a pool record in the 100-free at 43.64.
SENIOR DAY
Prior to the meet, the program honored seven seniors for their valued dedication and impact to the team. Addison Collins, Kaloyan Levterov, Lucas Madariaga, Namakonov, Jacob Replogle, Kevin Siegfried, and Dylan Smolders were celebrated.
RESULTS
The men's squad picked up 11 total wins across the meet.
They started the day off with a victory in the 200-medley relay, with Kade Snyder, Namakonov, Manuel Osorio, and Addison Collins picking up the win at 1:27.30.
That was followed up in the 1000-free with Cody Lonsberry taking the win at 9:23.87. Broder Swenson and Charles Henage took second and third, respectively.
Lonsberry continued his torrid distance success by winning the 500-free at 4:35.66.
Snyder picked up an individual win in the 100-back at 48.12.
Brian Wilbur took the 100-breast at 55.03. Wilbur was the first of three Hens to touch the wall before a Patriot, with Malcolm Collins and Osorio placing in the next two spots. Wilbur picked up his second win in the 200-breast at 2:03.62.
Kevin Siegfried scored a 289.20 in the 1-meter dive and finished second in the 3-meter dive at 284.18.
Max Moen won the 200-IM at 1:50.26, defeating the nearest George Mason swimmer by over seven seconds.
The men ended out the day, and the meet with a win in the 400-free relay. Namakonov, A. Collins, Snyder, and James Haney swam a 2:59.86.
UP NEXT
The Blue Hens' next meet is the ASUN Championships, in Orlando, Fla., from February 18-21. This will be the squad's first time competing in the championship for its new league.
