Men's Swimming & Diving's Snyder and Martinez Awarded ASUN Men's Swimmer and Diver of the Week

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - University of Delaware men's swimming & diving swept the ASUN men's swimming awards with Kade Snyder winning men's swimmer of the week and Paxton Martinez being awarded men's diver of the week, the conference announced Tuesday.

Both student-athletes combined to score 51 of Delaware's 177.5 points on the day. Snyder contributed 33 between individual and relay races, while Martinez had 18 on the boards in the Fightin' Blue Hens' 177.5-122.5 win over Towson.

Snyder recorded three total wins, including two individual wins in the 100-back and 200-back. The returning NCAA qualifier recorded three total wins.

In both individual races, the 100-back and 200-back, Snyder took first place. In the 100-back, he swam a 47.87, 2.5 seconds faster than any Tiger. The 47.87 was the second-fastest time in the nation during the opening weekend in dual meets according to Swimcloud.

In the 200-back, he swam 1:48.30, finishing first. Snyder anchored the 400-free relay, swimming his 100 yards in 45.06, leading to a Delaware win, and securing his third win of the day. He led off the 200-medley relay, swimming 22.04 in his 50-yard portion. Delaware led the relay as he touched the wall, ultimately finishing second.

Martinez competed in his first meet for Delaware since transferring in from Cleveland State. He recorded 18 points on the day, tied for the highest of any male in the event, and just shy of 10-percent of Delaware's total points.

Martinez broke career marks in both events, scoring a 282.00 in the 1-meter and 283.88 in the 3-meter.

He recorded the highest marks in both dives in the ASUN across this week's meets, scoring higher than FAU's only scoring diver at Florida, the only other event that included diving.

This is the second time in program history that the Fightin' Blue Hens have swept the ASUN men's weekly awards. The last time was January 20, 2026, when Matvei Namakonov and Kevin Siegfried won men's swimmer of the week and men's diver of the week, respectively.

UP NEXT
The Blue Hens' next meet is a tri-meet at West Virginia against the Mountaineers and another Big 12 opponent, the Cincinnati Bearcats on October 23-24 in Morgantown, W.Va.
