Women's Tennis Opens Spring Season with 4-1 Victory over Bellarmine

NEWARK, Del. - The University of Delaware women's tennis team opened its dual-match season with a victory over Bellarmine by a score of 4-1.
This is the seventh-straight season that the program has opened the year with a win.
ON THE RECORD
"That was a great win to start the season with our first match. Our doubles play was solid, and we stayed aggressive from the start," head coach Pablo Montana said. "We were able to shake off some of the rust and competed well on all six courts. We'll look to carry this momentum into tomorrow's match against Liberty."

- Amelia Gorman and Lara Russiniello won their first singles matches as Fightin' Blue Hens. The latter doing so at 6-1, 6-1.
- In doubles play, Maryia Hrynashka and Paulina Jurkowska stayed on their torrid pace, winning 6-1 in first doubles.
- Gorman and Navya Vadlamudi picked up the other doubles point for UD at 6-3.
