HEN HIGHLIGHTS
- This is Delaware's 15th-straight win over the Tigers and 20th all-time at home.
- Penelope Kousouris notched her second goal of the season for the game-winning score.
- Alexa Michielsen scored her fifth of the year on a penalty corner.
- Linde van Leeuwen tallied her fifth goal of the season.
- Lily Cosner had two assists.
- Ella Cellini dished out a helper on van Leeuwen's goal.
- Gabby Prentice got the win in goal, saving four shots, moving to 6-6 on the year.
- For senior day, the team celebrated Josefina D'Alessandro, Kate Fiest, Alexa Michielsen, Elle Patterson, Sarah Rigual, Tetje Williamson, practice player Nico Campbell, and student manager Josephine van Wijk for their contributions to the program during their time in Blue & Gold.
- Towson appeared to have scored first just 98 seconds into the game, but the tally was waived off as a foul. As the game approached the three-minute mark in the first quarter, van Leeuwen scored on a penalty corner off assists from Cosner and Cellini. This was the only goal between both teams with 10 shots fired in total during the first 15 minutes.
- The Tigers struck twice on four shots in the second stanza, one coming on a penalty stroke in the 19th minute. They scored again just two minutes later while holding UD without a shot on goal.
- In the third frame, Cosner inserted a corner to Michielsen that found the cage for her fifth goal of the season. One minute after Michielsen's goal, in the 40th minute, Kousouris received a pass from Fiest in transition that she sent past a sliding Tiger goalie to break the tie.
- Both teams went scoreless in the fourth quarter to seal the victory for the Hens. Delaware and Towson both had two penalty corner opportunities that fell short.
- Cosner had four assists over Delaware's final three home games.
- Delaware wraps up the season 3-1 at Fred P. Rullo Stadium with a .750 winning percentage. This is its best home win percentage since the spring of 2021 when it went 5-1 (.833).
- Michielsen's score marks the fifth-consecutive senior day where a senior found the back of the cage. Iris Bekker (2025), Valentina Martorell (2024), Berber Bakermans and Anna-Rose Gabbitass (2023), and Morgan Rigual (2022) all scored on their senior days.
The Blue Hens remain home as they host the MPSF Tournament on November 6-7 when Queens (NC) and UC Davis come to Newark to crown the conference champion.
