Women's Tennis Conquers Seton Hall 6-1

NEWARK, Del. - University of Delaware women's tennis defeated Seton Hall by a score of 6-1 at Wilmington Country Club Friday.

The Fightin' Blue Hens improve to 4-2, while the Pirates drop to 2-4. This was UD's second win over a BIG EAST opponent so far this season.

"Another strong performance from our group today," head coach Pablo Montana said. "Doubles continues to look good, especially with our willingness to be aggressive on key points. In singles, we're playing with confidence, stepping up, and taking chances moving forward. We'll carry this momentum into preparation for Penn next Friday."

- UD clinched the doubles point, with Maryia Hrynashka/Paulina Jurkowska and Amelia Gorman/Emma Akselrod picking up quick wins at 6-1, 6-3, respectively.
- Lara Russiniello got things started for Delaware in singles, defeating her opponent 6-0, 6-1.
- Emma Akselrod and Payton Tomichek had valiant comebacks after losing their first set to take the next two, both winning third-set pro-sets by a score of 10-7.
- Tomicheck picked up her first dual match win as a Blue Hen.
