MIAMI – The University of Delaware women's basketball team fell to FIU, 62-36, inside the Ocean Bank Convocation Center on Thursday. The Fightin' Blue Hens drop to 12-14, 6-8 CUSA, while the Panthers improve to 16-9, 9-5 CUSA.

HEN HIGHLIGHTS

Delaware outshot the Panthers 31-percent to 22-percent in the second quarter.
Lay Fantroy led the team in points (11), rebounds (6), assists (3), and blocks (3). Fantroy found herself with double-digit points for the 50th time in her career.
Trinity Vance tallied 10 points to go with five rebounds, which tied a career best. It was the 12th time this season that Vance scored in double figures.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Panthers got out to a 4-0 lead, before Ella Wanzer cut their lead to one with a three-pointer. FIU held a narrow 10-7 lead at the game's first-media stoppage with 4:32 left in the opening quarter. The home team closed the quarter with a 16-10 advantage.
UD outpaced the Panthers 8-2 during the opening five minutes of the second quarter, holding FIU scoreless for 2:32 heading into a media break. At the half, the Panthers led 25-19.
FIU scored the first-four points of the third quarter to go up 10, leading to an early Delaware timeout in the second half. FIU used a 9-0 run to extend its lead to 20 late in the third frame, a margin that stood heading into the fourth.
The lead for the Panthers reached as high as 27 in the fourth quarter.

UP NEXT
The Fightin' Blue Hens will remain on the road to take on Missouri State on February 21. The game will be at 2 p.m. and will air on ESPN+.
