Men’s Basketball Comeback at Kennesaw State Too Late

KENNESAW, Ga. – The University of Delaware men's basketball team's comeback against Kennesaw State was too late Saturday with the Owls winning 90-82. The Fightin' Blue Hens move to 9-20, 5-13 CUSA, while the Owls advance to 18-11, 10-8 CUSA.
With his fifth free throw of the night, Christian Bliss broke the program record for most free throws made in a season by a rookie and is currently at 139 on the season.

- Delaware's 57 second-half points, was the most the team has scored in any half this season.
- UD shot 96.2 percent from the line, going 25-of-26.
- The Hens connected on 11 3-pointers, marking the 11th time this season in double digits.
- Bliss led Delaware with 25 points. He also added seven assists and five rebounds.
- Justyn Fernandez finished with 20 points.
- Alex Kazanecki tallied 16 points on 5-of-8 shooting and grabbed a career-high four steals.
- Jayden Taylor matched his career high of 11 points.
- The home team took a 13-3 run into the first media break at 15:24 to lead 13-6. All of Delaware's first six points came from Fernandez. The Owls took a 18-3 run over the 6:37 span to hold a 20-9 advantage with 11:57 left in the first. KSU sparked a 7-0 spurt over 1:37 to pull ahead 33-17 at the 6:48 mark for the under-eight break. That run nearly doubled to 12-1 over a 3:51 period into the final stoppage with KSU up 38-17. The buzzer sounded with the Owls ahead 50-25.
- Despite being down as many as 26 points, UD clawed back in the second half with a 30-16 run over a 10:39 span to slice the margin to single digits at 79-70 with 2:58 left. The comeback bid was too late with Kennesaw State prevailing.
