Men's Tennis Conquers George Mason 4-0; Lock Records Eighth-Straight Singles Win

NEWARK, Del. - University of Delaware men's tennis captured its fourth-straight win in a 4-0 triumph over George Mason University. The Fightin' Blue Hens rise to 7-1 on the year. The Patriots fall to 5-2.

Senior Tobey Lock picked up his eighth-consecutive singles win, and moves to 7-0 in dual match singles action.

The two squads did not compete in doubles action due to inclement weather, battling only in singles.

"Great win on the road today against [who was] a nationally ranked team at the start of the season," interim head coach Nathan Perrone said. "Thankful we got this in with the rough weather today after multiple cancelled matches these past few weeks. Excited to build off of this and get playing outside for our home matches in Newark this weekend."

- Federico Garbero got things underway for UD, defeating his opponent 6-3, 6-3.
- Itamar Tapiro fought back in his third set pro set, winning 10-6, after having things tied up after two sets.
- Tobey Lock played a hard fought match, battling in a tiebreaker in the second set after going down 0-1. The senior also played a third set pro set, prevailing 10-7.
- Mason Robins returned to the courts and continued his winning ways, defeating his opponent 6-2, 6-3. The junior is now 13-1 on the year in singles play.
