Three Women's Basketball Student-Athletes Earn All-CUSA Honors

DALLAS – Three University of Delaware women's basketball student-athletes earned All-CUSA honors, the league announced Monday. Ande'a Cherisier was named All-Conference USA Second Team, while Kailah Correa and Lay Fantroy each earned All-CUSA Honorable Mention laurels. Correa also took home the honor of being on the CUSA All-Freshman Team.
Cherisier averaged a team-best 12.7 points and 7.7 rebounds per game in 29 games with 29 starts for the campaign. She led the Fightin' Blue Hens with 21 double-digit point showings and nine double-doubles, while grabbing 10+ rebounds 10 times to tie for the team lead. Her 7.7 boards ranks ninth in the conference in rebounds per contest. The Baltimore, Md. native's regular season was highlighted by earning CUSA Player of the week on January 26 as she averaged a double-double (17.5 ppg and 10.5 rpg) in a 2-0 week for the Blue Hens with wins over Middle Tennessee and WKU. Cherisier becomes the second member of the Blue & Gold to earn second team all-conference honors in as many seasons, joining Tara Cousins who was named All-CAA Second Team in 2024-25.
Correa averaged 10.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game in 28 games with 26 starts during her rookie season in the 302. She finished tied for third on the Hens with 15 double-digit point showings. The Lebanon, Pa. native shot 38.5 percent from the field and 34.3 percent from beyond the arc, while earning Conference USA Freshman of the Week honors twice. Correa becomes the first Fightin' Blue Hens freshman to earn conference all-rookie honors since Cherisier earned the plaudit in the CAA in 2023-24.
Fantroy averaged 10.7 points and a team-high 8.3 rebounds per game in 29 games with 25 starts during her first season in Newark. She finished second on the team with 17 double-digit point showings, including one 20-point performance. Fantroy's rebounds per game numbers place her fourth in CUSA and 86th nationally. She is tied for seventh in CUSA with 1.0 blocks per game and 12th with 1.9 steals per game. The Palestine, Texas native notched eight double-doubles during the regular season and 10 games with double-digit rebounds.
Delaware will return to action tomorrow as the No. 8 seed in its first season in Conference USA. The Fightin' Blue Hens will take on the No. 9 seed Kennesaw State in the first round of the 2026 Air National Guard Conference USA Basketball Championship on Tuesday, March 10 at 12:30 p.m. ET and the game will air on ESPN+.
