Women's Tennis Takes Down NJIT for 20th-Consecutive Home Win

NEWARK, Del. - University of Delaware women's tennis picked up its 20th-straight home win in a 4-0 victory over NJIT on the DFH Outdoor Courts Friday afternoon.

The Fightin' Blue Hens improve to 18-4, while the Highlanders fall to 14-6. This was the third-straight match where Delaware did not concede a point.

ON THE RECORD
"This was a good win for us, especially since they beat us last spring," head coach Pablo Montana said. "Our doubles [play] has never looked sharper, and we came out firing in singles with real purpose and passion from the first point."

HEN HIGHLIGHTS

UD recorded the doubles point for the 21st time this season and sixth time in a row, with Maryia Hrynashka/Paulina Jurkowska taking their match in first doubles 6-1 and Katie Dollens/Lara Russiniello cruising to a 6-2 victory.
In singles, Navya Vadlamudi continued her winning ways, defeating her opponent 6-1, 6-2 in fifth singles for her sixth-consecutive victory.
Russiniello got out to a quick start in fourth singles, winning 6-1, 6-2 over a Highlander.
Hanna Vinahradava clinched the match for the Blue & Gold for the second match in a row. She won 6-2, 6-4 in sixth singles.
Russiniello and Vinahradava became just the 13th and 14th in program history to win 23 singles matches in a season.
