Rowing's 1V4+ Takes Two Races at Cornell Invite

ITHACA, N.Y. – University of Delaware rowing won three races at the Cornell Invite, competing against Cornell and Bucknell on Saturday.
The Fightin' Blue Hens came out on top in both rounds of the Varsity 4+ and in the first round of the 2v8+.
They became the first MAC team of the season to defeat an Ivy League boat in their second round win over Cornell in the V4+.
ON THE RECORD
"This weekend was a great opportunity to show what we had to bring to the table," senior coxswain Amina Mai said. "We stayed gritty and adaptable between the 2 races and really put our all into getting our bow ball ahead. I'm really proud of the work we put in."

HOW IT HAPPENED
V8+
- Delaware fell just short, three seconds behind, in both races that the Varsity 8+ competed in.
- UD cruised to victory in round one over Bucknell at 6:48.8, a 13-second cushion.
- The same result went in favor of Cornell in round two.
- The Hens stood tall in the Varsity 4+, sweeping both races on the day. In round one, The Blue & Gold defeated Bucknell by 32 seconds at 7:42.9.
- In round two, Delaware took down Cornell with a time of 7:41.35.
SECOND VARSITY 4+
- The Hens took on Cornell in both races in the 2V4+. In the first trip down the river, Cornell won by an eight-second margin.
- In round two, Delaware closed the gap, finishing just behind by 1.5 seconds.
