Rowing Completes Regular Season at Worcester Women's Invite

WORCESTER, Mass. – University of Delaware rowing finished in the top three in three-of-four finals races at the Worcester Women's Invite on Lake Quinsigamond hosted by Holy Cross.

The Fightin' Blue Hens finished second in both the Varsity Eight and Second Varsity Eight, while placing third in the Varsity Four.

ON THE RECORD
"I think this weekend was a fantastic opportunity to put it all out there one last time before our conference championships in just a few short weeks," freshman Daniella Sexton said. "It's really powerful to see us get sharper mentally and physically before conferences, and showcase all that we've been doing since August. I think our team is as close as ever and we really have each other's backs no matter what, and that's a value that will really help us in the coming weeks, and at MAC [Championships]."

"I think that the team has great momentum heading into the championship," sophomore Milly Murphy said. "We have been building the whole season and we are very excited to put it all out there!"

HOW IT HAPPENED
V8+

Delaware placed second in the heat round at 6:58.69, tying that mark in the finals with a three-second improvement at 6:55.8.

SECOND VARSITY 8+

UD took second in the heat round with a time of 7:06.5. In the finals, they finished in second place at 7:04.2.

VARSITY 4+

The Varsity Four finished just .79 seconds behind Rhode Island in the heat, marking the third finish within the top-three during the heat round. In the finals, they rowed to an 8:00.1 time, placing third.

SECOND VARSITY 4+

In the Second Varsity Four, the Blue & Gold placed third in the first heats at 8:04.33. After, in the finals, they took fourth at 8:01.00, improving by almost three seconds.
