Men’s Basketball Signs Transfer Eugene Alvin

NEWARK, Del - The University of Delaware men's basketball program signed transfer Eugene Alvin to the 2026-27 roster, head coach Martin Ingelsby announced Tuesday. Alvin will join the Fightin' Blue Hens after spending last season at Morgan State.
"We are thrilled to welcome Eugene to our Blue Hen basketball family," Ingelsby said. "He is a versatile player that can work in the post, rebound at a high level, and knock down shots from the perimeter. Welcome to Delaware, Eugene!"
The 6-7 forward has appeared in 29 games with 14 starts, while averaging 19.4 minutes, 7.3 points, and 3.6 rebounds per game for his career.
In the 2025-26 season, Alvin shot 45.1 percent from the field and 38.4 percent from three.. He recorded 211 points, 19 steals, and 14 blocked shots. The forward scored in double figures 19 times last season.
Prior to Morgan State, the Fort Myers, Fla. native played two years of junior college basketball, first at Bishop State Community College followed by Florida SouthWestern State College. In 2023-24, Alvin played in 28 games with 15 starts and averaged 7.6 minutes and 3.5 points per game in his freshman year at Bishop State. He then improved to start 28 of the 29 games he appeared in. He averaged 25.6 minutes and 8.9 points per game at Florida SouthWestern.
Alvin played four years at Gateway High School in Fort Myers, where he averaged 17 points and eight rebounds per game, while shooting 52 percent from the field in his senior year.
