NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware men's basketball program signed transfer Nick Petronio to the 2026-27 roster, head coach Martin Ingelsby announced Thursday. Petronio will join the Fightin' Blue Hens after spending the last two seasons at Boston College.
"We are excited to welcome Nick to our Blue Hen basketball family," Ingelsby said. "He is a big-time shooter with an elite basketball IQ and competitive spirit that makes him a perfect fit for what we are building here at Delaware. Welcome to Newark, Nick!"
The 6-3 guard did not see any game action in his freshman or sophomore years at Boston College. Petronio played high school basketball at Milton Academy where he was a 2023-24 Class A All-NEPSAC selection and one of the top shooters in the country, connecting on nearly 44-percent throughout the Nike EYBL circuits in 2022.
Petronio was an All-NEPSAC Class A selection and Boston Globe All-Scholastic honoree in 2021-22, where he helped Milton Academy to nearly 50 wins over his junior and senior seasons. The three-star rated recruit by Rivals, 247Sports, and On3, also played with the Expressions Elite AAU team.
