Women's Tennis' Hrynashka and Jurkowska Break Career Doubles Wins Record in 7-0 Sweep Over Monmouth

NEWARK, Del. - University of Delaware women's tennis student-athletes Maryia Hrynashka and Paulina Jurkowska broke the program record for doubles wins as a pair with their 44th-career win together in the Fightin' Blue Hens 7-0 win over Monmouth on Tuesday.

The Fightin' Blue Hens improve to 16-4, while the Hawks fall to 3-14. The win was Delaware's 18th-straight home win and 10th of the season. This is the third-straight year that UD gathered 10-or-more wins at home.

ON THE RECORD
"That was another good win for us and we're definitely carrying strong momentum right now, head coach Pablo Montana said. "Huge congratulations to Maryia and Paulina for setting the record for most career doubles wins in Delaware women's tennis history. Our doubles have really been the backbone of our success this spring, and I'm excited to see how they continue to finish out the season. In singles, we did a great job getting off to early leads on all courts and we're continuing to play with a lot of confidence."

HEN HIGHLIGHTS

UD recorded the doubles point for the 19th time this season, with Navya Vadlamudi/Amelia Gorman cruising to a 6-1 win and Hrynashka/Jurkowska picking up their record breaking win 6-4.
Hrynashka's individual doubles win was her 24th of the year, setting a new career-high for doubles wins in a season.
In singles, Jurkowska kept up her winning ways with a 6-3, 6-0 win on court two and Hrynashka followed right behind with a 6-3, 6-4 win.
Vadlamudi battled to a 7-5, 6-3 victory, clinching the match for Delaware.
Gorman nabbed her 15th singles win in dual action winning 6-3, 6-4.
Hanna Vinahradava moved to 21-3 on the year with a close match, winning 7-6 (7-4), 2-6, 6-2.
Payton Tomichek competed in her first singles match since March 13, picking up her third-straight win at 7-6 (7-4), 7-5 in sixth singles.
