Ayeni, Evans-Shields To Compete in First Round of NCAA Championships

LEXTINGTON, Ky. -Â Throws athletes Olamide Ayeni and Nubia Evans-Shields are set to compete in the discus throw in the first round of the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Lexington, Kentucky from May 27-30.
At the Conference USA Outdoor Championships, Ayeni won the discus throw with a mark of 55.10 meters. The throw was a new personal best and ranks second all-time in program history. It is also tied for the 39th best mark in division I and ranks 21st in the east region. Her efforts earned her first team all-conference honors.
Evans-Shields earned a fourth place finish with a new personal best throw of 51.56 meters. The mark ranks fourth all-time in program history, and is 46th best in the east region.Â
The discus throw is set to take place on Saturday, May 30 at 1 p.m. ET
