Baseball's Bouldin Agreed to Terms with Philadelphia Phillies Organization

NEWARK, Del. - University of Delaware baseball infielder Evan Bouldin agreed to terms on an undrafted free agent contract with the Philadelphia Phillies organization on Monday following the conclusion of the Major League Baseball draft.
The Middletown, Delaware native was the Fightin' Blue Hens best hitter during the 2026 season, starting in all 54 games, leading the team in batting average (.330), on-base percentage (.424), slugging percentage (.558), OPS (.982), hits (68), doubles (15), multi-hit games (21), home runs (10), and RBIs (43). Bouldin was also tied for the team lead in walks (33), and stole seven bases. Among conference hitters, he was in the top 10 in batting average, OPS and hits. He earned All-CUSA Second Team honors last season.Â
After his four-year collegiate career concluded, Bouldin ranked sixth in division I in doubles (59), seventh in hits (263), 20th in at-bats (813), 28th in runs scored (174) and 30th in total bases (412).Â
For the second-straight season, the Blue Hens have had a player sign with an MLB organization. Following the conclusion of last year's draft, outfielder Aaron Graeber signed with the Los Angeles Angels organization. He currently plays for the Angels' Single-A affiliate, the Tri-City Dust Devils.
Boudlin joins a long list of former Blue Hens who have signed with the Phillies organization. He is the 23rd Blue Hen to be drafted by or sign with Philadelphia. The last Blue Hen to sign with the Phillies was Billy Sullivan in 2020.Â
The 302 native is one of five former Blue Hens who are currently playing for an MLB organization, along with Graeber, Sullivan (Harrisburg Senators, National Double-A affiliate), Ron Marinacchio (San Diego Padres) and Brandon Walter (Houston Astros). The Delaware baseball program has had 14 players reach the big leagues.
In addition, former catcher John Schneider is the current manager for the Toronto Blue Jays and was selected to be the manager of the American League at this year's all-star game in Philadelphia.
