Cowen and Powers Named USILA Scholar All-Americans; Men’s Lacrosse Earns Team Academic Award

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Delaware men's lacrosse seniors Nick Cowen and Brendan Powers were named United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Scholar All-Americans, the outlet announced. In addition, the Delaware men's lacrosse team earned a USILA Team Academic Award for the 2026 season.
The USILA Scholar All-America program recognizes student-athletes with at least a senior academic standing who achieved a 3.0 GPA or higher and has been honored as an All-American or with an All-Conference award.
Cowen started all 13 games and led the team in caused turnovers with 26. The Franklin Square, N.Y. native averaged 2.09 caused turnovers per game which ranked fourth in the Atlantic 10 and 13th nationally. A graduate international business major, he carried a 3.75 GPA.
Powers, a financial planning & wealth management major with a 3.48 GPA, led the team in goals (20) and points (26), while adding six assists for third most on the team. The Skaneateles, N.Y. native started in all 13 games for the Hens and recorded four hat tricks on the season. A three-time all-conference honoree, he finished his collegiate career with 119 points, which is tied for the 25th-most points in program history.
Cowen and Powers became the ninth and 10th Blue Hens to be named USILA Scholar All-Americans in program history. They are two of 141 Division I men's lacrosse players named to the USILA Scholar All-America list in 2026.
To qualify for the USILA Team Academic Award, schools must have a team GPA of at least 3.0. This season, Delaware is one of 45 Division I men's lacrosse teams to earn the honor. It is the fourth-consecutive year that the Blue Hens have cracked the list.
