Men's Soccer Tops Temple at Home

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware men's soccer team topped Temple by a score of 1-0 at Grant Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
With the win, the Fightin' Blue Hens overall record becomes 2-0-0 on the season.
HEN HIGHLIGHTS
- Freddy Jeffreys scored his third-career goal in the third minute of play off of a penalty kick.
- Luke Jones recorded his first collegiate starts.
- Widrick made three saves in his second start as a Blue Hen.
- Mason Booz, Seamus Lannon, and Cole Frederick recorded their first collegiate minutes.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Delaware got off to a hot start as Joe Richards was fouled inside the box in the third minute of play, which lead to the penalty kick goal by Jeffreys.
- Widrick recorded three saves in the second half
GAME NOTES
- This is the 10th-straight home win for the Blue & Gold.
- McMenemy is now 2-0 against Temple in his time at Delaware.

The men's soccer program heads to Georgetown on Thursday, August 27 for a 7:30 p.m. non-conference game. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
