PHILADELPHIA – The final week of the regular season in the PLL, hosted in Philadelphia for the Waterdogs Homecoming, set the postseason picture for this upcoming weekend for four Fightin' Blue Hen alumni this Saturday, August 29, in Minneapolis, Minn.
Owen Grant (2019-23), Tye Kurtz (2019-23) and the Boston Cannons had a bye week in the City of Brotherly Love but earned the No. 3 seed in the playoffs after a 2-0 weekend during their homecoming the week prior. The duo will take on the No. 6 Maryland Whipsnakes on Saturday, August 29, at 8:30 p.m. (ET).
Matt DeLuca (2017-20) returned from injured reserve with a right adductor strain and made two saves in the Waterdogs' 18-10 win over the New York Atlas. Philadelphia took its second win of the weekend in front of its home crowd over the Whipsnakes 11-9. Those two wins gave the Waterdogs the No. 1 seed, and a bye to the PLL Semifinals in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The weekend wrapped up with Chris Collins (2003-06) and the California Redwoods defeating the Denver Outlaws 18-11, securing the No. 4 seed and a rematch against the Outlaws on Saturday, August 29.
