Stenner Signs Professional Contract with Akademisk Boldklub

GLADSAXE MUNICIPALITY, Denmark – University of Delaware men's soccer forward Marius Stenner has signed his first professional contract with Akademisk Boldklub (AB) in his home country of Denmark, the club announced Monday. AB is a Danish professional football club from Gladsaxe, currently playing in the second tier of Danish domestic football in the Danish 1st Division. The contract is a three-year deal through June 2029.
Stenner is the first Fightin' Blue Hen to go pro under current Fightin' Blue Hens' head coach Tommy McMenemy.
"This is a dream come true for me," Stenner said. "It's been something I've been working on for the past 18 years and now it's time to go play pro. Representing Delaware has meant a lot to me. I didn't know what I was getting into flying across the Atlantic, but as soon as you're part of the community, you know what it means to people. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to the Delaware community, to the fans, to the athletic department, to the staff, and the team."
In just two-plus years, Stenner has become one of the most impactful Blue Hens in program history. He has appeared in 36 matches with 24 starts for Delaware and has tallied 56 career points on 21 goals and 14 assists.

In his freshman season Stenner was the 2024 CAA Rookie of the Year, earned All-CAA First Team, All-CAA Rookie Team, and ranked highest in the CAA at No. 14 on TopDrawerSoccer's Midseason Top Freshman List. He also led the team in points (23), tied for team leader in goals (9), and was second in assists (5) for the 2024 season. Stenner ended the season tied for first in the NCAA for game-winning goals with five.
His second season at Delaware included First Team All-Summit League, First Team All-ECAC, First Team All-West Region, and was a three-time Summit League Peak Offensive Performer of the Week. The forward also was on the 2025 Hermann Trophy Watchlist, and was No. 11 on TopDrawerSoccer's Top 100 Midseason Watchlist, as well as No. 44 on its Top 100 Postseason List. Stenner led The Summit League in shots (57), shots per game (3.35), shots on goal (26), points (31), points per game (1.82), and tied for first in game-winning goals (4) and assists (9). He also ranked eighth in the NCAA in points per game (1.82), 11th in assists per game (0.53), 11th in total points (31), 12th in assists (9), 14th in shots per game (3.35), 16th in the NCAA in game-winning goals (4), 17th in goals per game (0.65), 19th in shots on goal per game (1.53), and 19th in total goals (11). His 31 points in the 2025 season is tied for seventh in program history.
On the academic side, he received the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District, Summit League All-Academic Team, Summit League Academic Honor Roll, Summit League Commissioner's List of Academic Excellence, and Conference USA Academic Honor Roll awards for his efforts in the classroom the 2025 season.
Prior to the start of the 2026 season, Stenner was named to the Hermann Trophy Watchlist for forwards, the overall Hermann Trophy Watchlist, TopDrawerSoccer's Best XI Team (Forwards, Second Team), and was No. 18 on TopDrawerSoccer's Top 100 Preseason List.
