Field Hockey's Clarke Earns MPSF Offensive Player of the Week

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - University of Delaware field hockey midfielder Katie Clarke picked up her first-career Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Offensive Player of the Week award for her performances in hard-fought contests against Ohio State and Kent State, the conference announced Tuesday.

Clarke scored five points on the weekend, with two goals and an assist. She now ties for the conference lead with five, picking up all of them on UD's trip to Ohio.

Against Ohio State, she assisted on a goal and eventually tallied her first-career goal to give UD a 3-2 lead. In the shootout round, she scored again, causing the game to come down to its final shot.

In a MAC preview at Kent State, Clarke split two defenders at the 25-yard line, depositing a backhand shot, tying the game for an eventual Delaware win.
