MADISON, Wisc. – The University of Delaware women's golf team carded a 54-hole score of 38-over par 902 to finish 10th at the 16-team Badger Invitational, hosted by the University of Wisconsin. The Fightin' Blue Hens finished ahead of CUSA foes FIU, New Mexico State, Western Kentucky, and Sam Houston. The tournament was played at the par-72, 6,332-yard University Ridge Golf Course.

Teams played 27 holes on Monday and nine holes on Tuesday to account for inclement weather on the final day.

T28. Rhianna Gooneratne – 75-73-75=223 (+7)
T38. Mary Grace Dunigan – 74-80-72=226 (+10)

HOW IT HAPPENED

As a team, Delaware drained 28 birdies over the 54-hole tournament.
Gooneratne finished with seven birdies to finish as Delaware's top finisher for the second-straight tournament to start the season.
Dunigan finished strong with an even-par 72 over her final 18 holes. She finished tied with Gooneratne for the team lead with seven birdies.
Sawant totaled six total birdies over her 54 holes.

UP NEXT
The Blue Hens will head back out to the Great Lake Region next weekend for the Mary Fossum Invitational, hosted by Michigan State University. The two-day, three-round tournament will be held September 20-21.
