The Barn


Everything you need to know about the student tailgate area at Delaware Stadium.

In a joint initiative between the athletic department, student life and partners across the University of Delaware campus, The Barn, is returning this fall as part of an effort to create inescapable spirit across all of campus and provide a space exclusive to students to gather before football games.
Hours and General Information for The Barn:
- The Barn opens 2.5 hours prior to kickoff.
- If you exit The Barn and wish to re-enter, you must wait in line and/or proceed to the entrance as you did upon initial entry.
- Entry to The Barn will close 15Â minutes prior to kickoff. Once the game begins, students need to enter the stadium. The Barn will close at kickoff.
- Prohibited stadium items are also prohibited in The Barn. This includes outside food, drink, and backpacks, unless you are in a designated Barn tailgate parking spot. Bags must be smaller 16" x 16" x 8" and will checked upon entry. Click here to see a full list of prohibited items.
- Students will have their tickets scanned upon entry into The Barn.
- Guest tickets are available for friends of UD Students. See the Cockpit section below for how to obtain a guest ticket (a guest ticket to the Cockpit will provide the access a guest needs to get into The Barn).
- The Barn is subject to the weather and emergency policies that affect Delaware Stadium. Please be alert.
- Effective 8/1/14 the University of Delaware has implemented a tobacco-free policy applicable to all members of the University community. For details, visit www.udel.edu.
- Concession deals for students will be available at The Barn for purchase. Students may use flex dollars, meal dining points, cash, or credit to purchase food.
- Special concession promotions and giveaways will be available for guests. Follow @UDCockpit on Twitter & Instagram for the latest deals and gameday updates.
- There will be a stage at The Barn with different music acts throughout each tailgate event.
- Limited seating is available. Arrive early for your best chance to grab a seat.
- Porta-potties are available on-site for use.
- Traditional tailgate games are available on a first come, first served basis.
- The Barn is sponsored by Klondike Kate's.
- One bar serving beer, ciders, and seltzers is on-site. See below for the full alcohol policy.
- The Delaware gameday shuttle drop-off is located at Sincock Lane and the baseball access road closest to The Barn. You are highly encouraged to take the bus to Delaware Stadium on gameday. Game day shuttles will start running 2 hours and 45 minutes prior to kickoff and make stops at the George Read, Independence, and Perkins Student Center.
- You can also walk to the stadium!
- You may park in the single game lot ($10Â in advance) and walk over to The Barn. Click here for general parking information and click here for general tailgating guidelines.
- Traffic on gameday may cause delays. Please plan on arriving early if driving.
- The student gate is in the southeast section of the stadium, closest to the Bob Carpenter Center. All students must enter through this gate to get their game ticket scanned for entry.
- Students can reserve their game ticket here.
- Vouchers for student giveaways will be handed out when entering the Barn on Gamedays. All students must have a Barn ticket to receive a voucher.
