AT DELAWARE
Four-time letter winner who graduated in May 2017 from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Science in nursing • versatile player that has great offensive and defensive skill sets in addition to a solid tactical understanding of the game • displays the abilities to make players around her better • wrapped career tied for 17th in program history with 17 assists • led the Blue Hens to four CAA Tournament trophies, two CAA regular season titles and the 2016 NCAA Division I Championship.
2016 SEASON
Team captain alongside classmates Esmée Peet and Meghan Winesett • helped guide the Blue Hens to the program's first-ever NCAA Division I Championship while registering a team-record and nation-best 23 victories and 90.2 winning percentage • finished year ranked third in the CAA and 43rd nationally with 0.48 assists per game • tied for third in Delaware single season history with 12 assists • tallied career-highs of 22 points on five goals and 12 assists • named to the NCAA All-Tournament Team after posting the game-winning goal in the team's 1-0 victory over No. 9 Louisville (Nov. 12) • earned the PNC Student-Athlete Achiever Award (Oct. 22) • ZAG Field Hockey/NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad • Chi Alpha Sigma (National College Athlete Honor Society).
2015 SEASON
Started 18 of 21 games played for the three-time CAA Champion Hens • had a breakout year with 10 points on three goals and four assists • ranked fourth in the CAA and 24th in NCAA Division I standings with three defensive saves • named to the CAA All-Tournament Team • scored first career goal at No. 19 Michigan State (Aug. 30) • tallied game-winning goal in 5-0 decision at Cornell (Sept. 6) • collected first career defensive save in 3-2 win at Richmond (Sept. 27) • also posted defensive saves at Hofstra (Oct. 9) and No. 5 Virginia (Oct. 18) • logged an assist in 8-1 CAA semifinals win over Hofstra (Nov. 6).
2014 SEASON
Appeared in 18 games during her sophomore campaign • started eight total games, including the three final contests of the year for the back-to-back CAA Champion and NCAA Tournament participant Blue Hens • recorded first career assist in team's 4-1 win over Richmond on Sept. 5 • finished season with seven shots (four on goal) • CAA Academic Honor Roll.
2013 SEASON
Saw action in 16 games while starting two for a Blue Hen squad that tallied a program-record 17 victories in addition to earning both the CAA regular season and tournament championships en route to the fifth NCAA Tournament berth in school history • registered first career shot in a 3-2 win at Columbia on Oct. 20 • NFHCA National Academic Squad.
HIGH SCHOOL
A three-year starter at Villa Maria Academy, she helped lead the Hurricanes to four PIAA District I Championships under head coach Maurene Polley • team collected a 44-5 record in her final two seasons en routes to PIAA State Finals appearances • squad was the 2011 Philadelphia Inquirer Team of the Year • as a senior, was named to the Harrow Sports/NFHCA High School All-Region Second Team, Second Team All-State, All-Southeastern Pennsylvania Inquirer First Team, All-Main Line First Team, League All-Star, First Team Daily Local All-Area Team, PFHCA All-Academic Team and NFHCA High School Academic Team • also named All-State Honorable Mention and All-Area Second Team as a junior • helped lead her club team, the WC Eagles, to a NIT Poll Championship, Festival Championship and NCAA second place finish • academically sound athlete as she obtained a four-year academic scholarship to Villa Maria • earned Distinguished Honors, First Honors and All Honors/AP Classes • honored as the Andrea Thompson Memorial Scholar Athlete • spent time as a member of the yearbook staff, Math Honor Society, National Honors Society, Latin Honor Society and CYO Board.

Maura Gallagher Zarkoski • born November 18, 1994 in Marietta, Ga. • daughter of Patti and Alan Zarkoski • has three siblings, Anna, Joseph and Abbie • mom played field hockey at Notre Dame • sister, Anna, served as a graduate assistant coach at Saint Joseph's after a successful playing career at Richmond • cousin, Mary Cate Gordon, played field hockey at Old Dominion • majoring in nursing with the goal of becoming a nurse anesthetist • enjoys reading, listening to music and spending time with her family • favorite sports teams include the Philadelphia Phillies and Philadelphia Flyers • chose Delaware because of the excellent field hockey team and first-rate nursing program.
