Luis Marcano is in his first season on the Delaware coaching staff in the 2021-22 season.

Marcano finished a decorated career at Delaware in 2021, registering 30 career wins in singles play to go along with 23 victories in doubles. The Kralendijk, Bonaire native posted 13 singles victories as a freshman during the 2016-17 season.

A three-time team captain, Marcano served on the NCAA Competition Oversight Committee from 2019-2021. He helped guide Delaware to a 14-1 record (.933), the highest winning percentage since 1974-75 and the Blue Hens were amidst a school-record 14-match winning streak when season was halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic

Off of the court, Marcano was and was the program’s SAAC representative for three years, including serving as Delaware’s SAAC President during the 2019-20 academic year. He was a four-time member of the CAA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll and was named a two-time ITA Scholar Athlete in 2019. He was also the recipient of the 2019-20 Atlantic Region ITA Arthur Ashe Leadership & Sportsmanship Award.

Marcano graduated from UD in May 2020 with a degree in computer engineering and is pursuing his master’s degree in robotics.
