In just two seasons with the Delaware men’s lacrosse program, John established himself as one of the most exciting and successful athletes in school history and remains one of the top professional lacrosse players in the world.
A dominating offensive player with a combination of strength, speed, and a blazing shot, John recorded 81 goals and 96 assists for 177 points in just 32 career games for the Blue Hens under coach Bob Shillinglaw.
A native of Ontario, Canada, John was a two-time USILA All-American, earning first team laurels as a senior in 1999 when he led all NCAA Division I players with 110 points and was named the winner of the prestigious Enner Award as the USILA National Player of the Year.
He led Delaware to its best season in school history in 1999 when the Blue Hens went 14-3 and advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals.
A 2000 graduate of Delaware, John moved on to an All-Star career with professional indoor and outdoor teams and was one of the world's most recognized players in the sport for 20 years.
He was the No. 1 overall pick in the draft by Rochester in the 1999 National Lacrosse League Draft and played with teams in Rochester, Colorado, Hamilton, and New York. He also played Major League Lacrosse for teams in Chesapeake, Denver, and Ohio. He was named MLL Most Valuable Player in 2007 and 2008, NLL Most Valuable Player in 2007 and 2012, and led teams to numerous league titles.
He served as an assistant coach at Delaware for head coach in 2000 and also served as a college assistant coach at Air Force and Johns Hopkins.
