RANDY POWERS
Men’s Lacrosse (1983-86)
A high-scoring attackman, Powers ranked among the nation’s top offensive players during his career at Delaware under head coach Bob Shillinglaw.
A native of Syracuse, N.Y., Powers earned United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) All-American honors three times as a Blue Hen, including second team selections in 1985 and 1986 and honorable mention accolades in 1984.
He played in the North-South Senior All-Star game as in 1986. The only two-time East Coast Conference Player of the Year in UD history, he earned All-ECC honors three times and led the Blue Hens to three straight league titles.
A 1986 Delaware graduate, Powers led the Blue Hens to their first NCAA Tournament appearance in 1984 and established long-standing Delaware records for goals (161) and shots (558) in a career and held the school career point records (241) until 1995.
He became just the third player in UD history to lead the team in goals scored three straight years when he recorded 31 as a sophomore in 1983, 53 as a junior in 1984, and 47 as a senior in 1985.
