SARAH A. PEFFER
Women’s Swimming & Diving (2002-04)
In two spectacular seasons at the University of Delaware, Sarah dominated the action in the pool for the Blue Hens.
A native of Newark, Del., she started her collegiate career at Nebraska before becoming an instant star for head coach John Hayman at Delaware, capturing eight Colonial Athletic Association individual and relay titles, setting six school records, and earning University of Delaware Outstanding Senior Female Athlete of the Year honors in 2004.
She won three CAA titles in 2003 and was even better as a senior in 2004 when she won the 500 freestyle, 1,650 freestyle, 400 individual medley, 400 medley relay, and 800 freestyle relay and earned the CAA Outstanding Performer Award for the meet. That same season she became the first non-diver at UD to be an NCAA Provisional qualifier (1,650 freestyle) and was selected as the CAA Female Swimmer of the Year.
The 2004 Delaware graduate set school records in the 200 freestyle (1:51.38), 500 freestyle (4:54.90), 1,000 freestyle (10:09.06), 1,650 freestyle (16:45.07), 400 individual medley (4:25.81), and 800 freestyle relay (7:35.68).
She earned her history degree from Delaware in 2004 and has worked with the Wilmington (Del.) Police Department since 2006.
