University of Delaware Women Netters Upend Saint Joseph's, 4-3, to Remain Unbeaten

ELKTON, Md. – The University of Delaware women's tennis team came through with a 4-3 victory in a tightly-contested match with Saint Joseph's University at the Elkton (Md.) Indoor Courts on Saturday.
The Blue Hen women (3-0) remained unbeaten for the spring as the Hens posted their third straight victory.
Delaware won three singles matches in straight sets while dropping three closely contested matches. In doubles, the Hens earned the point thanks to three easy victories. Delaware got straight set wins from Samantha Carnall, Sophie Sjoberg-Sundstrom, and Amanda Halstrom (at right).
The Blue Hens swept the three doubles matches behind wins from Carnall and Sjoberg-Sundstrom at the No. 1 spot, Dorothy Safron and Courtney Fenimore at No. 2, and Kimberly Milla and Christina Harrington at No. 3.
Carnall won 6-0, 6-0, Sjoberg-Sundstrom was victorious by a 6-1, 6-0 score, and Halstrom followed suit with a 6-3, 6-3 victory at the No. 3, 4, and 5 spots, respectively.
The Blue Hens will return to action at Navy on March 9 for a 3 p.m. match.
