University of Delaware Falls 6-1 to No. 74 UNCW in CAA Action

NORFOLK, Va. -- The University of Delaware women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to 70th-ranked UNCW in Colonial Athletic Association Action on Sunday.
The match was played at the Folkes-Stevens Indoor Tennis Center on the campus of Old Dominion University during the Hens' weeklong trip to Virginia.
The Blue Hens (6-4, 1-2) lost their third straight as UNCW (12-5, 6-1) swept Delaware in doubles play and won all but one singles match.
In singles action, Courtney Fenimore picked up her 29th career win after her counterpart retired. Fenimore was down 4-6 in her first set against UNCW's Kelly Cameron before Cameron bowed out in the third flight.
Freshman Kimberly Milla (at right) hung tough in the fifth flight, pushing to three sets in singles. Milla dropped her first set 6-2, but won the second 6-4 against Christina Riley. Milla and Riley battled in the tiebreaker, but in the end Riley captured the point with a 6-1 victory.
In doubles action, the Blue Hen duo of Carnall and Sjoberg-Sundstrom fell in the top flight to Olga Blank and Angie Sekely, but forced a tiebreaker. The UNCW partnership won 8-7 (4).
Delaware will look to get back into the win column on April 7 when the Blue Hens return home to host CAA foe Drexel on April 7 for a 11 a.m. match at the Delaware Field House Courts.
