University of Delaware Women Netters Perform Well at Season Opening Towson Invitational

Both matches were non-scoring competitions.
The Blue Hens opened the tournament against Towson as Dorothy Safron at No. 1 singles, and freshmen Danea Jonjic at No. 2, Nataliya Naumova at No. 3, and Carmen Lei at No. 4 all picked up victories. Kim Milla (at right) and Olivia Heim also combined for a 6-2, 6-3 win in the doubles match.
Against Mt. St. Mary's, the Hens won three of the four singles matches and won at the doubles competition. Jonjic won at the No. 1 spot while Milla was the winner at No. 3 and Heim was victorious at the No. 4 spot. Safron and Lei then combined for a 6-0, 6-1 win at doubles.
The three-day event will continue with matches on Saturday and Sunday.
