Delaware Competes vs. George Washington; Remainder of Towson Inv. Canceled Due to Weather

The Blue Hens, who competed vs. Mt. St. Mary's and host Towson in Friday's opening day of play, started Saturday with competition against George Washington and had begun play vs. Morgan State before rain forced the cancelation. A later match vs. Saint Joseph's was also canceled.
There was no team scoring in any of the matches during the weekend.
The Blue Hens will continue action Sept. 22-23 at the Cissie Leary Tournament at the University of Pennsylvania.
On Saturday, the Hens won three of the four singles matches as Dorothy Safron (at right) defeated Leah Pascarella 6-3, 6-0 at the No. 1 spot, Danea Jonjic won 6-2, 6-1 over GW's Egie Jakuciunaite, and Nataliya Naumova was a 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (7) winner of Dorota Lysienia. Delaware's Carmen Lei fell to Stephanie Wei of George Washington by a 6-0, 6-1 score.
In the lone doubles match, George Washington's team of Lara Robins and Mimi Hamling upended Delaware's tandem of Olivia Heim and Kim Milla by an 8-1 score.
