Delaware Baseball?s Yezzo Named Colonial Athletic Association Co-Player of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Delaware baseball team was honored by the Colonial Athletic Association Monday as Blue Hens first baseman Jimmy Yezzo was named the CAA Co-Player of the Week for his performance last week.
Yezzo, a junior first baseman from Cherry Hill, N.J. (Bishop Eustace), batted .555 (10-18) with four doubles, a homer, nine RBI's and seven runs scored in Delaware's 4-0 week. He's currently on a five-game hitting streak and has reached base in 34-straight games dating back to last season.

He leads the CAA in doubles (14), RBI (32) and total bases (72). In addition to ranking second with 42 hits and is tied for third with four home runs.
Yezzo, the CAA's pre-season Co-Player of the Year, becomes the first Blue Hen to earn the weekly honor from the CAA this season.
Joining Yezzo as co-player of the week is Old Dominion's Ben Verlander. UNCW's Matt Batts and William & Mary's Jason Inghram were named Co-Pitcher of the Week while UNCW's Terence Connelly was named Rookie of the Week.
The Blue Hens (14-8, 3-3 CAA) return to action in the first round of the Liberty Bell Classic on Tuesday, March 26 at 2:00 p.m. as Delaware hosts Saint Joseph's University at Bob Hannah Stadium
