Yesterday, UNCW defeated UD, 6-1, to open Colonial Athletic Association play.
Once the Monarchs collected four points, all matches were abandoned, as Delaware would not have the opportunity to pick up a win.
“Like yesterday, the chance to play another high-level team back-to-back will help us in the future,” Delaware head coach Laura Travis remarked.
ODU earned the doubles point with two wins but the Hens did post a victory at the No. 3 spot where Danea Jonjic' and Kim Milla defeated Ivana Vukovic and Nika Khomolovska by a score of 8-6.
In the singles' third flight, Carmen Lai led Vukovic, 6-2, 2-1 (50-30) before play was abandoned.
Additionally, Delaware's Christina Harrington held a 6-3, 1-0 (30-0) advantage against Nika Khmolovska in the No. 6 spot and Blue Hen Dorothy Safron led Nikol Hristova 6-3, 3-2 at the No. 2 position when played was stopped.
Delaware falls to 7-4 on the year while the Monarchs moved to 10-7 overall.
