NEWARK, Del. -- A group of five men and four women, including National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame inductee Tubby Raymond, make up the 2002 class of the University of Delaware Athletics Hall of Fame.
The sixth class of the UD Athletics Hall of Fame brings to 52 the total number of former UD athletes, coaches, and friends who have been honored. The Class of 2002 was inducted into the hall of fame in a ceremony Nov. 22 at the Bob Carpenter Center and was recognized prior to the Delaware vs. Villanova football game Nov. 23 at Delaware Stadium.
The Class of 2002 includes six-time East Coast Conference women's distance track and field champion Jody Campbell; 1960's All-American men's basketball player and NBA draftee Nate Cloud; all-time great men's diver of the 1950's Bauduy Grier; women's athletics pioneer Dr. Barbara J. Kelly; high-scoring field hockey and lacrosse All-American midfielder Beth Manley; Delaware football coaching legend Harold R. "Tubby" Raymond, who won 300 games during his tenure with the Blue Hens; winner of 14 men's indoor and outdoor track and field conference sprint titles David Sheppard; All-Ameican men's soccer goalkeeper David Whitcraft; and high-scoring All-American field hockey forward Sharon Wilkie.
