Bob Hannah Stadium, formerly called Delaware Diamond, is the home of the Blue Hens Baseball team. The stadium was renamed in May 2000 in honor of longtime Hall of Fame baseball coach Bob Hannah.
One of the most respected and successful coaches in the history of college baseball, Coach Hannah won more games than any coach in Delaware history. He led the Hens to a 36-year mark of 1,053-464-6 between 1965 and 2000, ranking in the top 25 all-time in college history for wins.
In 2014, Bob Hannah Stadium underwent extensive renovations that included the addition of a new artificial turf playing surface, new heated dugouts spanning 70' down the field sideline, new stadium fencing and backstop area, a three tunnel batting cage, a new scoreboard, and improved home and visitor bullpens.
Again, improvements were made during the 2019 season when lights were added to the facility. The first night game at Bob Hannah Stadium was held April 5, 2019 when the Blue Hens topped William & Mary, 1-0. The following night, Coach Hannah was in attendance to throw out the first pitch and watch his old team again edge the Tribe, 3-2.Â
The playing field dimensions were also changed to 330' down the right field line, 320' down the left field line, and 410' to center field.
The renovation improvements have helped solidify Bob Hannah Stadium as one of the premiere collegiate baseball facilities in the Mid-Atlantic region.Â
