LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- University of Delaware softball junior Hannah George has been named an NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete for the 2013-14 academic year, the organization announced this week.
George, a psychology major with a minor in human development and family services, appeared in 31 games while making 23 starts for the Blue Hens during the 2014 spring season. She ranked fourth on the team with a .289 batting average, finishing the year with 11 hits and 10 runs scored. She went 2 for 3 during both ends of a doubleheader sweep at La Salle, and also delivered an RBI single during a win over Monmouth.
George, a native of Auburn, Calif., has made 76 starts through her first two seasons at Delaware, all but two in centerfield. She has batted .274 through her first two years, compiling 45 hits, 33 runs scored and 17 RBI.
Along with George, former Blue Hens Tori Conrad and Courtney Green were also honored by the NFCA as all three student-athletes compiled a 3.5 grade point average or higher during the 2013-14 academic year.
