CAA Field Hockey Tournament Field Set; Blue Hens to Face William & Mary Friday at 5 p.m.

RICHMOND, Va. – The field is set for the 2014 Colonial Athletic Association Field Hockey Championship following the completion of regular season play Monday afternoon.
The defending champion University of Delaware (11-8, 4-2 CAA) is seeded second in the four-team tournament and will face third-seeded William & Mary (7-11, 4-2) at 5 p.m. Friday. Despite a common CAA record, the Blue Hens earned the higher seed based on head-to-head matchup.Friday's opening matchup features first-time host and CAA regular season champion Northeastern (14-4, 5-1 CAA) as the first seed. The No. 18 Huskies will square off against fourth-seeded James Madison (11-7, 3-3 CAA) at 2 p.m.
Delaware has defeated all three teams in the tournament, having downed Northeastern 3-2 on Oct. 24, William & Mary 5-3 on Oct. 5, and James Madison 6-5 in double overtime on Oct. 3.
The CAA Championship title game will take place on Sunday, Nov. 9 at 1 p.m. The team that captures the trophy Sunday will earn an automatic bid into the NCAA Field Hockey Championship.
All contests will take place at Northeastern's Dedham Field in Dedham, Mass., a suburb just outside of Boston.
