Woodie previously served the past 10 months as a volunteer assistant coach at her alma mater. She rejoined the Blue Hens amidst one of their most remarkable seasons in Delaware history and her contributions were immediately present in the areas of practice, scouting, game day operations and alumni networking. UD posted a program-record 17 victories in addition to earning both the Colonial Athletic Association regular season and tournament championships en route to the fifth NCAA Tournament berth in school history.
“As a program, we are excited to be in the position to elevate Missy to an assistant coach this season,” commented Van de Kerkhof. “I am looking forward to providing guidance to her as a member of our staff and to see her further develop as a coach. Missy has done an excellent job as a Blue Hen student-athlete, student coach and volunteer coach, so it is great to provide her with the next step in her field hockey coaching career.”
Woodie was a four-time All-CAA player during her tenure with the Blue Hens from 2007-10. She saw action in 74 games in a Delaware uniform and tied for seventh all-time in UD history with 20 assists.
The Fredericksburg, Va. native graduated from Delaware in 2012 with a degree in health and physical education. Following graduation, Woodie served as a graduate assistant coach at Longwood University, where she earned a master's degree in adapted physical education. Prior to returning to the Blue Hens in 2013, Woodie was an assistant coach at West Chester University.
A native of Ireland, McKee has over three years of experience working with Delaware field hockey as a summer camp coach and counselor.
“We are excited about Jordan joining our staff in the role of volunteer coach and assisting us with the development of our 2014 players group and team,” Van de Kerkhof remarked. “Jordan is passionate about teaching the game of field hockey and has tons of involvement in playing and coaching at competitive levels world-wide. With Jordan on our staff, we have also been able to experience a high-level of preseason performance by the entire team compared to last year.”
McKee most recently coached with the North Down Hockey Club in Comber, Northern Ireland where the Women's First XI team finished as runners-up in the 2014 Irish Hockey Trophy and his Men's Second XI squad was named champions of the 2013 UHU Junior 2 League. He also has experience with Regent House Grammar School, Servette Hockey Club, Grosvenor Ladies Hockey Club and Queen's University Ladies Hockey Club while developing professionally with Swiss Hockey Federation and Irish Hockey Association.
A graduate of Queen's University Belfast, McKee earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and politics in 2009.
The No. 18 Blue Hens open the 2014 campaign this Friday with a non-conference match at Stanford, which will be broadcast live via the Pac-12 Network. Delaware will also face Pacific (Aug. 30) and Cal (Sept. 1) on Stanford's campus before returning home to host Richmond on Sept. 5.
