Delaware Football Hosts Louviers FCU Band Day Saturday at Delaware Stadium; Over 1,000 High Schoolers Set to Perform

NEWARK, Del. -- Over 1,100 high school band members from throughout the region will be on hand at Delaware Stadium this Saturday night as the University of Delaware's annual Band Day takes place as part of the Delaware vs. Colgate football game beginning at 6 p.m.
The event, sponsored by Louviers Federal Credit Union, annually attracts some of the top high school bands in the region. The bands will join the University of Delaware Marching Band for a performance at halftime.
The high school musicians and performers will join the UD Marching Band in the performance of two 1980s classic rock and roll charts, “Any Way You Want It” by Journey and Joan Jett's “I Love Rock And Roll."
Those bands scheduled to perform are, from Delaware, Alexis I. duPont High School, Christiana HS, Delaware Military Academy, Caravel Academy, Glasgow HS, John Dickinson HS, Newark Charter School, Newark HS, William Penn HS, Woodbridge HS, Milford HS, Skyline Middle School, and Thomas McKean HS; from Pennsylvania, Palisades HS; from Maryland, Aberdeen HS and North East HS; and from New Jersey, Keansburg HS and Millville HS.
Thirteen of the band directors scheduled to be on hand are UD graduates and former UDMB members.
For the fifth straight year, Louviers Federal Credit Union is providing each of the high school band members a complimentary yellow t-shirt that will be worn while they are performing in formation.
