CAA Recognizes Emmeline Oltmans as Field Hockey Rookie of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. – Following her first weekend of collegiate action, University of Delaware field hockey freshman Emmeline Oltmans (Baarn, The Netherlands/Het Baarnsch Lyceum) earned Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Week accolades.
Oltmans finished the opening weekend of play with a 2-1 record for the No. 18 Blue Hens. The rookie goalie started all three games and notched victories over Pacific (2-1) and Cal (3-2 OT).
In the three contests, Oltmans allowed just seven goals (2.30 GAA) with nine saves (.562 save percentage) with a total of 212:43 minutes played.
Drexel senior Rachel Sumfest was named the CAA Player of the Week.
The Blue Hens return to Rullo Stadium this coming weekend as Delaware hosts Richmond in its home opener Friday at 7 p.m. before welcoming No. 2 North Carolina for a noon contest on Sunday.
