Blue Hen Softball Hosts Local Youth Teams Prior to Sunday?s Exhibition Doubleheader vs. Kutztown

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware and Kutztown University softball teams took advantage of a beautiful fall afternoon as the two squads battled during an exhibition doubleheader Sunday at the UD Softball Stadium.
Prior to the game Blue Hen players and coaches took photos and signed autographs with multiple youth teams from the area, as the local fan base came out in full force to support the UD program.
The day began on a somber note as the teams held a moment of silence and released balloons in memory of the four softball players from North Central Texas College who were killed in a tragic bus accident late Friday night.
The Blue Hens and Bears then played a competitive doubleheader on a sun-splashed afternoon in front of a stadium packed with enthusiastic softball fans.
