NEWARK, Del. -- Enjoy the family fun of Youth Day at Delaware Stadium this coming Saturday, Oct. 4, with ticket specials and FREE pregame entertainment as University of Delaware football hosts Sacred Heart at 3:30 p.m.
The Blue Hens will be partnering with the NCAA Football Take A Kid to the Game (TAKG) program that provides an opportunity for community outreach as it introduces local youth to UD Athletics. Its purpose is to encourage adults to take children to collegiate sporting events, inspiring them to pursue higher education opportunities. To do so, UD is offering one free youth ticket with the purchase of a full price adult ticket to support this program. Tickets can be purchased in-person in advance or on gameday. All tickets are subject to availability on a first-come, first-served basis.
Also as part of Youth Day, football and football cheer team members in 8th grade or younger were able to purchase discounted game tickets and wear their youth football jersey or cheer uniform to high five the football team on-field with the UD Marching Band as the Blue Hens take the field pregame. The deadline to purchase these promotional tickets online wasTuesday, Sept. 30, at midnight.
Group tickets and single game tickets as low as $15 are also available through the Delaware Ticket Office Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or on Saturday at the Delaware Stadium Box Office beginning at 11:30 a.m.
Plan your gameday experience to arrive early and enjoy a FREE concert from country music artist Bobby McGrath & The Brothers beginning at 1:30 p.m. in Hospitality Village. After recently performing on NBC's TODAY Show, they are coming from New York to Newark, Del. for the Blue Hens to enjoy! Check out their music on iTunes or at www.BobbyMcGrath.com.
Adjacent to Hospitality Village in front of the Bob Carpenter Center, be sure to take the kids through the FREE interactives, face painting, mini golf, freebies, and inflatable fun at the Newark Toyota World Fan Zone from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The UDairy Creamery Moo Mobile will be there as well selling the Blue Hens' favorite ice cream.
Also on Saturday, as a kick-off to the on-campus Operation October, UD students in attendance will have a chance to win several prizes while they show their Blue & Gold spirit throughout the game from the Cockpit. For event details, visit www.BlueHens.com/OperationOctober.
