UD knocked down nine free throws in the final minute of play Sunday afternoon to come from behind and defeat Northeastern, 54-48, at the Cabot Center. The Huskies led for over three quarters of the game, and held a 43-42 advantage with 2:28 remaining before Hannah Jardine drained a three to put the Hens ahead, 45-43. Delaware never looked back in its first CAA win of the year as the Blue Hens went 9-for-10 from the charity stripe and held NU to just five points to close the game. Erika Brown led all scorers with 18 points, three assists and three rebounds in 35 minutes of action. Jardine added 13 points and five rebounds while Joy Caracciolo registered 10 points and five rebounds. Makeda Nicholas led UD (6-9, 1-3 CAA) with six rebounds.
HEN SCRATCHINGS
· UD returns home after three games on the road. Delaware plays four of the next five games at the Bob Carpenter Center.
· The Hens snapped a three-game losing skid with its first CAA win at Northeastern Sunday.
