Hens Host Howard Saturday to Kick Off Spring Schedule

NEWARK, Del. – The University of Delaware women's tennis squad looks to build upon their fall success as the Blue Hens open the 2015 spring slate Saturday by hosting Howard at Elkton Indoor Tennis at 6:30 p.m.
Delaware completed the fall campaign with records of 36-23 (singles) and 26-8 (doubles) through four tournaments played.
Freshman Arielle Shuren (Montebello, N.Y./Suffern) guided the Hens with six singles wins while UD had five of its eight players reach at least five victories.
Laura TravisThe Blue Hens will look to a strong leadership group in seniors Christina Harrington (Millersville, Md./Severna Park), Abby Martinez (Winter Haven, Fla./Winter Haven) and Kim Milla (México City, México/CONAMAT) to obtain those goals, which includes a successful trip to the Colonial Athletic Association Tournament in mid-April.
The trio is part of a balanced Delaware roster that also includes two juniors, one sophomore and two freshmen.
