Four players scored in double figures while two picked up double figure rebounding efforts Monday evening as the Blue Hens closed out 2014 and the non-conference portion of the schedule with a 68-53 win against Rider at the Bob Carpenter Center. The two teams were tied at 30 at halftime, but the Hens put the pressure on in the second half and outscored Rider, 38-23, en route to victory. Erika Brown led all scorers with 16 points while Joy Caracciolo registered 14 points in the win. Hannah Jardine picked up her first career double double for the Blue Hens (5-6) with 12 points and 11 rebounds in addition to dishing out a game-best five assists in 37 minutes of action. Courtni Green also recorded 12 points, six rebounds, three assists and a game-high three steals. Makeda Nicholas notched a game- and season-high 12 rebounds to go along with six points.
· The Blue Hens are 11-2 all-time in the CAA season lid-lifter with losses coming to just Drexel (Jan. 4, 2009) and Old Dominion (Jan. 3, 2010).

SERIES INFORMATION
· Delaware has never faced Elon in women's basketball program history.
· The two teams will square off in the regular season finale at Elon on March 4.
· Martin has never matched up against Elon.
· Charlotte Smith (North Carolina '99) is in her fourth year with the Phoenix and is 57-48 all-time as a head coach. Smith previously served nine seasons as an assistant coach at her alma mater. She has also played professionally overseas and in the ABL and WNBA.
